The Top Women Business Montenegro (TWBM) Awards for 2025 were presented at a formal ceremony in Podgorica, highlighting the achievements and growth of companies founded and led by women in Montenegro. The event also marked the launch of the fourth edition of the Top Women Business Montenegro magazine, featuring key trends, analysis, and success stories from women-led businesses over the past year.
The ceremony was opened by Ljiljana Burzan-Nikolić, Executive Director of BI Communication and the founder of the TWBM initiative, who emphasized that the goal of this platform is to build a system that ensures women equal access to resources, opportunities, and visibility in Montenegro’s business environment while affirming the values women bring to the modern economy.
“In the influence economy, a woman’s strength in business isn’t measured only by revenue, but by how much her knowledge, resources, and network inspire others.”
Burzan-Nikolić also noted that the recently held TWBM Empower Forum gathered representatives of institutions, international organizations, and the financial and business sectors to address barriers and opportunities for strengthening women’s entrepreneurship. Recommendations from the Forum will serve as a basis for shaping future policies that support the women’s economy in Montenegro.
She highlighted TWBM’s ongoing commitment to building a strong network of women in business, increasing the visibility of women’s achievements, and creating an environment where businesswomen are equal drivers of Montenegro’s economic development.
The importance of strategic support for women’s economic empowerment was underscored by Silke Hollander, Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Montenegro.

“The women who are awarded today show that success is not a coincidence, but the result of courage, perseverance, and the space society creates for female talent to grow. This requires institutions that understand equality as a prerequisite for development, and that women are the ones opening new opportunities and driving transformation. At UNDP, we remain committed to supporting women whose leadership, innovation, and vision shape the future of Montenegro’s economy.”
Martin Leberle, Chairman of the Management Board of NLB Bank, stated that women’s work, innovation, and business results have become an important force for change in Montenegro’s business environment:

“When women push boundaries, the whole community moves forward. We believe in women who dare, innovate, and achieve results — and we stand beside them as partners, supporters, and allies on their path of growth and success.
The NLB Women Empowerment Award is more than an award; it is a message that we believe in you, your vision, and your power to transform both the economy and society.” “
