ŽIG ŽENSKI BIZNIS: Meeting of the Signatories of the Cooperation Agreement on the Project ŽIG “Ženski biznis”
Podgorica, October 10, 2025 The Agency for Creative Communications BI Communication, in cooperation with Montenegro’s first business information provider BI Consulting, has officially taken over the management, development, and implementation of the project ŽIG „Ženski biznis“. This was formalized through the Cooperation Agreement on the Project ŽIG „Ženski biznis“, signed in Podgorica by Ljiljana Burzan-Nikolić, Executive Director of BI Communication, and Marija Šuković, Head of the Secretariat of the Council for Competitiveness.
ŽIG „Ženski biznis“ carries exceptional importance for the development of inclusive and sustainable business in Montenegro, it was emphasized at the meeting of the signatories of the Cooperation Agreement for this important project, which brings together institutions, companies, and organizations committed to the economic empowerment of women in Montenegro. The aim of the meeting was to present plans for the further development and promotion of the project, review the results of research conducted among the holders of the ŽIG, and exchange experiences and proposals on possibilities for additional support to women in business.
The meeting was attended by representatives of partner institutions and organizations, including: Addiko Bank AD Podgorica, Crnogorska Komercijalna Banka AD Podgorica, MFI Alter Modus DOO Podgorica, Ministry of Finance of Montenegro – Directorate for Public Investment Management and Public Procurement Policy, NLB Banka AD Podgorica, Municipality of Bijelo Polje (Secretariat for Entrepreneurship), Development Bank AD Podgorica, Universal Capital Bank AD Podgorica, and Zapad Banka AD Podgorica.
“By taking over the leadership of the project, BI Communication continues to develop this important initiative with even greater responsibility and energy. We want ŽIG „Ženski biznis“ to become recognized as a lasting platform for support, visibility, and trust in women-led enterprises,” said Ljiljana Burzan-Nikolić, Executive Director of BI Communication and initiator of several projects that promote women’s entrepreneurship. She noted that the Secretariat of the Council for Competitiveness will continue to provide institutional support to the project.
Participants at the meeting agreed that it is the shared responsibility of all signatories to strengthen cooperation and create new benefits for the holders of the ŽIG, particularly in terms of access to financing and development programs.
The project ŽIG „Ženski biznis“ was launched in 2024 by the Secretariat of the Council for Competitiveness, with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Government of the United Kingdom, and in partnership with BI Communication. To date, 235 ŽIGs have been awarded, and 12 cooperation agreements have been signed with institutions from both the public and private sectors.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to continue coordination activities and prepare a new phase of project development, which will further strengthen the network of partners and holders of ŽIG „Ženski biznis“.
